Chicken & Broccoli Soup with Meesua!

What can be more delicious than chicken bones simmered for 2 hours to get wonderful stock?
Shredded chicken & broccoli!

Whole family is having the same - no salt added! All from natural flavours. Yummy!
I'm signing off to tuck in now!

Yummy Meesua with Quail's Egg

Yesterday was little boy's lunar birthday.
As such, we cooked meesua for him.

Very simple ingredients but the whole family loved it (my parents and sister came over to have it too)!

Ingredients:
Chicken (whole chicken since it was for the family, shred chicken meat before serving)

Carrots (cut into large chunks)
Large yellow onions (cut into quarters)

Simmer the above ingredients over the stove for 1-2 hours.
Separately, boil quail's egg. Deshell when hard boiled.
Also separately, cook mee sua then rinse in cold water to prevent it from overcooking (for little boy's share, we let it overcook so that it'll be softer).

Place meesua in a boil, pour in the soup with shredded chicken and carrots. Top off with quail's egg.
Yummy!

You can do the same with macaroni or just serve with rice.
Carrots can be replaced with other vegetables like pumpkin.
Add some broccoli for that dash of green!

Snacks for Toddlers

It's been a while since I've posted.

Recently, my boy got bored with his organic puffs and his yogurt melts.
As such, I was searching of another snack to entice him.
After observing him, it seems like he takes a keen interest in adult food (although I'm not ready to introduce salt & seasonings yet).

I decided to make small rice balls for him. Using plain rice, and adding a little of his vege purees to moisten the rice (so that they will stick to form a ball).

He was too happy with them (and too fast) that we didn't manage to get any pic!
I'll try to take some pic when we make some for him again. :)
